Best Indian Food in South Los Angeles

I have searched far and wide for Indian food this good. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. From the home style cooking, family atmosphere, to the incredible hospitality, I’ve come here weekly for five weeks straight. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Best place for lunch on the outdoor patio. Favorite dishes so far: Mango lassi, chai, Vada pav, chicken tikka masala breakfast burrito, lamb curry, saag paneer, plain dosa, gulab jamun.

I’ve traveled a lot and tried Indian food in many places, but 23rd Cafe truly stands out. With the new owners, the food feels homely and full of flavor—just like a proper home-cooked meal. As an Indian myself, I can honestly say this is the only place where I’ve found dosas, sambar, and chole bhature that taste this authentic outside of home. The food feels like home, it’s really fresh and the menu is so big that you never run out of new options to try! The staff treats is so warm and welcoming. It feels like you’re eating a meal with your family! The ambiance is so great as well - there’s always Bollywood songs playing. Their value-for-money is so great. You get a full thali for $9.99!

Absolutely loved the food here! Best Indian food we discovered near usc campus. Tried the vadapav, aloo & gobi parathas, chai, mango lassi and dosa. Everything was a 10/10. Highly recommend the vadapav. The ambience is great too!

One of the best momos and Vada pav, I have had in LA. They have a nice outdoor seating space that feels very relaxing with plants and cozy lights. If you are looking for affordable food that always tastes fresh and is a great space to hang out, do give it a try.
